3 Holiday Secrets – Living in Yellow

It wouldn’t be a holiday without lots of delicious, drooling food. From potatoes to cocktails, desserts, appetizers and everything in between, there was no shortage of calories between November and December and all I have to say about this is I am here for it. Luckily, so is the LIY group.

We recently gathered for the fourth annual holiday meal, where each of us brought a treat. [or drink] to share, and since we want to make sure you’re well fed this holiday season, we’re bringing you all the recipes we’ve made [and devoured] in this free holiday cookbook! Includes a simple slow-cooked beer cheese dip, smoky cocktail candies, delicious drinks to sip on, and some desserts to devour! There is nothing better than gathering around the table with the people you love and spending time chatting, laughing, sharing stories and of course – eating. Full belly = full heart and empty glass = fuller heart. I think we can all cheer for that!

Better Biscuits Sex

First time eating this cake [back in high school, which seems like decades ago… oh wait…] I fell in love at first sight. It comes together so easily and really keeps getting better every day! The longer it sits, the more the caramel and sweetened condensed milk will seep in! I recommend doing it at least the night before, if not earlier!

  • 14
    oz. [1 can]
    sweetened condensed milk
  • twelfth
    oz. [1 jar]
    caramel ice cream

  1. Bake the cake according to the instructions on the box.

  2. Remove the cake from the oven and immediately poke holes in the top using the bottom of a thin wooden spoon, skewer or fork.

  3. In a medium bowl, stir together the sweetened condensed milk and caramel sauce, then slowly drizzle the mixture over the top of the cake. Let the cake cool completely to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

  4. Spread Cool Whip on top, sprinkle with Heath toffee, and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Serve cold and refrigerate any leftovers. Interesting!
