While we talk about going with a new year theme, some of you might want to work with and make a few resolutions… Not everyone is trying to hit the gym for a month or plunge into the latest diet craze. Some of us are just looking to improve internally.

1) There’s no problem with not being invited/invited

In the age of social media, it is easy to get a case of FOMO (fear of missing out). How many times have you seen people go out and think “Wait… why didn’t they tell me?!”

At times, you may not be welcome and you end up putting yourself in an uncomfortable situation. Other times, people may actually forget to tell you.

With this New Year’s Resolution, you should learn to accept not being involved in every aspect of someone’s life. Many times, it’s not even personal.

Missed a movie you wanted to see? Passed up on a great airline deal? You know why? Because you waited for your friends and they bailed at the last minute.

Think of all the art show openings, concerts, trips, etc. that you didn’t attend because you were hoping someone would come along… Also? You never know what you can learn about yourself, by taking chances and doing things alone!

Life is way too short to miss. Take that trip alone. Try that new restaurant. Truth be told, you’ll find someone to photograph you and you’ll make some new memories. Time does not wait for anyone.

Just give it a try!

3) Say no and mean it

But a therapist can put you on a path that leads you to a better place. A place where you can learn to grow instead of just survive.

You don’t have to be a product of your past!

As someone who has gone on a journey of therapy, someone who has learned various tools to get through tough times, and who has had to work to improve herself in her shadow, it was difficult but very rewarding.

6) Rate your friendship

Sometimes right!!

We all have that one friend we’ve known, which feels like a lifetime. Sometimes that friend is not the best. However, you can hardly give them up because they have been around for a long time. Sometimes, as I’ve learned, “You grow up faster than your friends.”

When someone asks you why you are friends with them and you say “We’ve known each other for a long time!” Maybe it’s time to really think about what that person means to you.

Time No always equals a valid relationship. A person you met a month ago can give you more emotions than someone you met when you were two years old.

It’s okay to outgrow a friend. Don’t force yourself to nurture an old friendship that’s long since expired.

7) Let go of bad family members!

Talk about Relationshipsyou can stop dealing with family members who mistreat you and make you feel inferior.

Got a rude cousin every time you see them? An aunt who likes to remind you of what you do NOT work with? Got an uncle that annoys you?

Set those boundaries and protect your peace…

Just because they are related to you doesn’t mean you have to be with them.

This goes for parents too. You don’t deserve to be mistreated by anyone.

8) Step out of your fashion comfort zone

When you are shopping online and you see something that you only have dream of wearingbuy it.

Don’t wait to lose a few pounds.

Don’t wait for the opportunity.

Don’t worry about other people’s opinions.

If it brings you joy, wear it. If you want to try something new, do it. You never know what you might unlock by allowing yourself the space to explore your personal style. Confident, bold, playful – each of these can happen when you allow yourself space to play or with specific items in your wardrobe.

9) Take more pictures.

We get so caught up in our self-consciousness that we miss the chance to be part of great memories.

You are worried about whether you are ugly or not.

Can it be edited?

Whether it’s the perfect photo or not.

Those things don’t matter.

Everyone wants to look back and remember you were there. Don’t hide anymore! Life is too short.

Jump in every picture you can!

Sleep is for the weak
